Kenya auction sells coffee worth $221.7 mln in 2010/11

NAIROBI (Reuters) – Kenyan coffee sold through auction earned $221.7 million in the 2010/11 (Oct-Sept) marketing year, up from $171.35 million the previous year, Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) data showed on Friday.

KAMPALA (Reuters) – Uganda’s October coffee exports climbed 14.5 percent compared with the same month a year ago, beating expectations, boosted by a bumper harvest in eastern Uganda, a source at the state-run Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) said on Friday.
